Letters from family, side by side

Ollie, thank you for being a big part of our family and our hearts. You were there for Morgan and I’s first date. For our wedding. I remember how happy you were that I became your mommy when you were one. Thanks for the road trips, car rides, hikes, walks, adventures, moving to all your new houses, always letting me know when someone is at the door, your wiggle butt and yelps when you were so happy to see us again. If I could go back and relive the moments with you again I would.

Thank you for taking care of me when I was pregnant with Kai. For being there in my lowest moments, being my snuggle buddy and for stepping up as a big brother to Kai. For loving and accepting Kai into our family when he was born and showing him how to enjoy looking out the window with you, to growl, to play.

We thought we had more time with you. We did all we could to help you recover from HGE and we are sorry it ended the way it did. Just yesterday you and I were at the Capitol reef property enjoying the beautiful view together. You can rest here in peace at the place you loved most and we will visit you often.

We deeply miss you and feel so much sorrow by losing you because of all the joy you brought into our lives. It’s safe to say you lived life to the fullest and got to do and see many things that normal dogs don’t get to experience.

I love you sweet boy. Ollie bear

Set your dog clock for when we will be able to see you again. Be a good boy, we will be together again soon.

Love,your mommy, Haley

I lost a piece of my heart today. Our family has gone from a family of 4 to a family of 3. It was so sudden. So unreal. So much energy and love gone in a second. He had so much life left that we were robbed of enjoying with him.

Ollie was my best friend, my best man. He went on my first date with Haley. He helped me propose. He was there on my wedding day. He has been on a wild journey with us. Traveling everywhere. Being pampered. Acting like a kid. Becoming TikTok famous. Raising my firstborn and teaching him how to crawl and howl at the window. His cute snuggles and tucking us in every night.

Ollie had the bluest of eyes. When you looked at him, you could almost discern he was human and could understand every word you said.

There are no words that I could say that could even remotely depict the effect this dog had in our lives and the lives of others. There will be no dog that will ever replace him. We lost a good boy. He’ll be waiting in heaven for us with his happy silly face and pink nose. I will miss this dog.

You’d tilt your head at every noise, so full of curiosity and joy. You welcomed us home without fail every single time with the most excitement anyone could ever muster.

You helped us achieve our dreams together. From the coast of Oregon to the tops of mountains. Jumping from house to house because we wanted to give you a better life with a bigger yard or park. I bought my first house because I wanted to keep you, since no landlord wanted a dog.

And then, at the end, we finally got land where you could roam free. You found rocks and sticks. It was the best month we ever had, and we could literally see the joy on your face. You’d just be out there and roam. Laying in the sun, watching the sunset, and we’d call you in when it was time to come inside. You were free.

Until we meet again Ollie ❤️
